OUR REPRODUCTIVE PSYCHIATRY DIVISION OFFERS SPECIALIZED TREATMENT WITH A COLLABORATIVE MINDSET
Meridian Psychiatric Partners, LLC prides itself in offering exceptional mental health services with a division of psychiatrists and psychotherapists dedicated to reproductive mental health throughout every patient's journey.
The Reproductive Psychiatry Division is one of the largest of its kind in Chicagoland and has providers who are expertly trained in serving patients throughout three distinct life stages: Perinatal, Menstrual and Perimenopause.
Each stage can present its own unique challenges, so you can count on Meridian to work with you to manage your reproductive mental health needs for:
- Preconception and pregnancy
- Postpartum and breastfeeding
- Infertility and pregnancy loss
- Premenstrual
- Perimenopause
Perinatal
The perinatal period refers to the preconception, pregnancy and postpartum stages of having a child.
You may be at a high risk for onset or exacerbation of mood and anxiety disorders during the perinatal period. Meridian’s experts can provide evidence-based information regarding the risks and benefits of receiving treatment while pregnant and breastfeeding.
You can count on us to help support you during this important transition phase. That includes guidance on decision-making to protect the mental health and well-being of new and expecting birthing parents, their partners and their babies. Additionally, we provide support for patients struggling with infertility and pregnancy loss.
Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) and premenstrual symptoms (PMS)
The premenstrual stage is considered up to two weeks prior to one’s menstrual cycle and can be a high-risk time for worsening symptoms of depression and anxiety.
In some individuals, premenstrual mood and anxiety symptoms can become debilitating. Consulting with Meridian’s dedicated providers can empower you to overcome your symptoms when things become especially challenging.
Perimenopause
Perimenopause is characterized by the transition to menopause, which is often marked by a worsening of mood and anxiety symptoms. These symptoms can become fairly intrusive and impact your health and functionality. Meridian’s talented providers have extensive experience in this area and are available for consultations to help you identify which treatment options are best for alleviating symptoms.
